I chopped off my hair! This is par for the course. I grow my hair out for a wedding or something, and then after a few years I see a picture of my short hair and cut it again. Even my stylist knew it was coming because as soon as I walked in she asked if I was going short. I’ll be honest, I didn’t love it at first. It also didn’t help that two of my three kids said they didn’t like it. A friend made an insightful point in that many of us hide behind our hair, and I think I had been doing that. It’s been about a week now, and I have finally gotten used to it. It also saves me a lot of time and I much prefer styling short curly hair over my long hair.
Leaving it Au Nauturale
90% of the time I leave my hair curly. I am very lucky that is my natural hair texture. My hair routine is pretty simple: shampoo, condition, comb in shower, squeeze out excess water, and then distribute R+Co Jackpot throughout.
Going Straight
The day after I took pictures for my last post I ran into a friend and she complimented me on my hair. I thought it looked nice too, but it was so much work! It entailed detangling my hair for 15 minutes, blow drying in 3 different layers, and then curling it. The process took over an hour. Now I can do this straight style in about half the time. I put a little bit of the R+Co Jackpot in my hair before blow drying it. Then just run my Chi flat iron through it. I can usually make the style last a couple days by spraying this R+Co dry shampoo in it.
