I am seeing so much fall fashion from bloggers up north, in Canada, and the UK. But here in Texas, it’s still above 90 degrees and there are no signs that is going to change any time soon. My solution is to put together some modest pre-fall fashion pieces to get me through the next couple months. Items like long sleeve t-shirts, jeans, and light fall layers.
Fall Colors in Summer Fabrics
This time of year is hard for me in Texas. My mind is screaming fall – we have already put up our fall decorations and I am itching to move on to more fall inspired fashion. But it is just too hot to think of wearing anything other than cotton or more breathable fabrics. To satisfy both, I found this lightweight long sleeve t-shirt by Madewell. I was feeling a retro vibe with it, so I paired it with these flared jeans and kept it comfy with some sneakers. Affiliate links to similar items below.

Fall Animal Prints
Another way to get started with fall fashion is with some animal print. Leopard print started up again last fall and has for the most part stuck around, snake print too. I went for this zebra print dress, and of course wore it over some jeans. I love this lightweight utility jacket I have in my hands, but couldn’t bring myself to wear it just yet. Still definitely hot enough to wear sandals. Affiliate inks to similar items below.

Mix Fall and Summer Pieces
I do not follow the ‘no white after Labor Day rule’, so I think it’s perfectly fine to wear white jeans all year round. For this modest pre-fall fashion look I paired them with some more fall appropriate suede flats but summery wooden earrings and this gray top by Infinite Abaya. Is it summer? Is it fall? Not quite either, but a little bit of both! Affiliate links for similar items below.
