Holiday Gift Idea: Jewelry Subscription Box
If you’re still on the hunt for a thoughtful holiday gift, purchase a subscription of the Little BLK Box by NVSME! NVSME is a contemporary jewelry brand based in Houston. Each Little BLK Box comes with an assortment of high quality jewelry. The Little BLK Box has two options: a one time purchase, or a subscription shipped every 2 months.
As a partner of NVSME I received a discount on my box, which I am sharing with you! Modestly Speaking readers can score 50% off their first order, subscription or one time purchase, with code BLKBOX50.
In purchasing a Little BLK Box, not only will you be giving a meaningful gift, you will be supporting a Black owned small business. You can read more about NVSME, and Brittanee King further down. Her story is a very moving one.
Inside My Little BLK Box by NVSME
These are the pieces I received in my box. I love how the pieces are unique twists on classics, making them versatile enough to wear casually or dressed up. Each item is made of high quality metals that feels as elegant as it looks. My box had some extra pieces in them because of my partnership with NVSME, you can expect 2-3 pieces in your Little BLK Box.
NVSME has a truly inspiring foundation story, which is part of why I love the brand so much. Brittanee King, owner and CEO of NVSME, was just 18 when she became the victim of police brutality. During a routine traffic stop, a police officer wrongfully assumed she was holding a weapon and shot Brittanee’s hand. The ‘weapon’ was no more than a bracelet she was wearing.
In a beautiful twist of irony, Brittanee used the very item at the core of this traumatic experience to heal and ultimately establish her jewelry brand NVSME. The handcrafted jewelry is not only meant to be pretty (which it is), NVSME is on a mission to empower women to feel bold, brave, and beautiful.
Of all the pieces I received in my box, this bangle is my favorite. On the surface, it’s an elegant bangle. However, inscribed inside are powerful words of affirmation. And for me, a reminder of Brittanee’s story. How we have the power to write our own story and determine our own path.
