I will preface this entire blog post by stating trends don’t HAVE to be followed. But, as your virtual bestie I feel it’s my responsibility to share the latest trends so you can decide whether or not they’re for you. My skinny jeans will stay in my closet because everyone knows fashion is like a carousel and they’ll eventually come back around. Case in point, bootcut jeans. How to wear bootcut jeans now? In my view, just like any other pair of jeans. One outfit idea is below. I’ll share tops and shoes I think go well with bootcut jeans.
Define Bootcut Jeans
Bootcut jeans are different than flare jeans (see this post for flares) only in how wide the opening is at the bottom. Bootcut have a slightly smaller opening. Length of bootcut jeans – your choice. I have a pair of cropped bootcut jeans I love. I have also held on to my first pair of bootcut jeans I bought over 15 years ago! The only difference between those ones and current ones is a higher waist. Not going to lie, I do like the higher waist, helps keep the tummy tucked in! Tops to Wear With Them
Because bootcut jeans aren’t too voluminous, you have a lot of creative leeway in what you wear on top. Below are some modest tops that would go well with them. This cotton floral top is from Target (affiliate link). It’s a great spring top that will go well with any style of jeans you wear.
What Shoes to Wear
When worn with a little bit of a heel, bootcut jeans can have an elongating effect. I am not one for high heels any longer, so I stick with a mid height block heel like these animal print pumps (affiliate link, similar). Affiliate link for shoes and sandals that go well with bootcut jeans below.
