If you haven’t noticed, glasses have become a serious fashion statement piece, kind of like your handbag or shoes. But just like those other accessories, styles change over time and it can be hard to figure out what the current trends in women’s eyewear actually are. That’s where I come in. With the help of E-Z Optical, I’ve created a guide to some of the hottest frames out there right now. The guide is part of an ongoing partnership with E-Z Optical. All opinions about the product are truly my own.
Eyewear Trend 1: Clear Frames
Clear, transparent glasses frames are everywhere these days. The great thing about this trend is that it is very versatile. You can go from something as subtle as these slightly rose hued frames, to completely clear, to an amber colored frame. A lighter color frame really brings attention to your eyes and brightens up your look. These frames below are Tom Ford. E-Z Optical has a huge variety of Tom Ford frames, clear and otherwise, and the price for them is a great deal.
Eyewear Trend 2: Browline Frames
These glasses go by other names too: horn rimmed glasses, or as I call them, Malcolm X glasses. The proper term is browline because well, they hit at your eyebrows! I am wearing the Ray-Ban Clubmaster here and it’s a great style for me for a couple reasons. First, I’m obsessed with everything vintage or vintage inspired (side note, the Clubmaster was released in 1947, as a men’s frame). Next, they’re a subtle statement I can wear anywhere, like the playground with the kids or out to coffee.
Eyewear Trend 3: Double Bridge Frames
Vintage, retro…give me anything throwback and I love it. The double bridge frame style isn’t just for aviator sunglasses. This metal frame by Scott Harris is perfect for a more professional look, and the slight amber tint is helpful when you’re staring at a screen all day. Silver or gold, these frames are definitely a statement.
Some other current trends in women’s eyewear I am loving are oversized frames in any color and vintage cat eye. What are your favorites?
