Happy Thanksgiving! The kids are off this week for the holiday and we will be road tripping to Atlanta for Thanksgiving and a family wedding. I am so excited to spend time with family during the week and enjoying a yummy Thanksgiving dinner. I’m also looking forward to getting my shop on this weekend. If you’re overwhelmed by all the different shopping days and various sales, fret not, I have created a handy little after Thanksgiving shopping guide! Read on for my suggestions.

Small Business Saturday
My husband and I visited the HTX Boss Babes Holiday Market a few weeks ago and came across some really cool little shops. One we really like is Gold Clover Company. He found some cider scented candles for his employees that smell AMAZING. And I found a necklace for myself. Both the candles and the jewelry are handmade by the owners and a portion of sales goes to local charities.
When we saw this plate we immediately stopped at Colorfull Plates‘ shop because it reminded us so much of our middle son! As a brown person, I am acutely aware of the lack of representative toys and literature for our children. I am so impressed by Colorfull Plates’ mission to build inclusivity and positive messaging into its products. Bonus that the quality of the items are top notch.
This might just be my favorite day of all. One of my old bosses once asked what I would do if I were independently wealthy and I said I’d be a philanthropist. I am so impressed by the dedication and motivation of people to serve their community and I try to do what I can to help.
An organization that is near and dear to me is The WOW Project (disclosure, I am on the board of this organization). The mission of The WOW Project is to provide a holistic view of wellness to underserved children in Houston. The cause is worthy and the founders are exceptional people who truly care about the community.
Happy shopping and happy Thanksgiving. Let me know of any good finds this weekend!
